Biography
William (Bill) Bickel has been a litigator and trial attorney for over 25 years with significant first chair jury trial experience. He began his practice with the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office where he rose to Chief of the Violent Crimes Division. He oversaw and handled complex multi-defendant murder, attempted murder, home invasion, armed robbery, kidnapping, and serious bodily injury cases. He has tried over 300 criminal bench and jury trial cases.
Bill joined the Baltimore, Maryland location of DeHay & Elliston, L.L.P. as an associate attorney in 2024. Bill’s practice now focuses on the defense of complex toxic torts, personal injury, and product liability matters.
Bill began his career as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps. In September 2001, he joined the Maryland Army National Guard and served there until his retirement in 2016. Bill enjoys spending time with his family and home improvement projects.
Honors
Bill received a Bronze Star in 2008 for service in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
