Biography
Thomas Balestracci is a partner at DeHay & Elliston, where he serves as National Coordinating Counsel, overseeing litigation throughout the country. In this capacity, he directs all aspects of the client’s defense, including discovery strategy, preparation and defense of corporate representative witnesses, motion practice, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
Prior to joining DeHay & Elliston in 2025, Mr. Balestracci was a partner at a law firm in Boston, Massachusetts where he served as counsel for Defendants on both the national level as National Coordinating Counsel and state level in Connecticut and Massachusetts. His defense work has primarily focused on defending a wide range of clients in asbestos litigation, complex civil and business litigation, premises liability, products liability, insurance coverage litigation, and toxic tort litigation.
Mr. Balestracci earned his Juris Doctorate from New England Law | Boston in 2014. While at NELB he co-founded the Business Law Society. Mr. Balestracci graduated from Brown University in 2007 with a B.A in Modern American History. While earning his undergraduate degree, he was a four-year member of the Brown University football team and was part of the 2005 team that won the Brown Bears’ first outright Ivy League Championship in school history.
Honors
Mr. Balestracci was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024; a distinction earned by only 2.5% of eligible attorneys. While at Brown University, Mr. Balestracci was the 2006 recipient of the Eugene C. Swift ’42 Award, awarded annually to the varsity football player who is recognized for their character, devotion, fairness, and personal courage.
