Nathan is a Partner at DeHay & Elliston. He focuses his practice in the areas of products liability, toxic tort, particularly asbestos litigation, and environmental law. He represents manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, premises owners and contractors, implementing defense strategy in both federal and state litigation, defending claims alleging asbestos exposure. Nathan has extensive experience in asbestos and toxic tort litigation from initial case evaluation, all aspects of discovery, dispositive motions, and mediation through trial. Nathan also has extensive experience in environmental matters, including handling regulatory compliance aspects of major transactions including mergers and acquisitions, Superfund and other enforcement action litigation defense, contaminated property disputes, and chemical regulatory reporting.
Prior to joining DeHay and Elliston, Nathan chaired and co-chaired the environmental practice groups at two other national law firms in their Chicago office. He also has obtained previous experience at the Illinois Attorney General’s office in their Environmental Enforcement Division, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5, and at a private environmental risk management consulting company.
Nathan also previously served as an adjunct professor at DePaul University teaching Environmental Law and Policy.
He has received multi-year recognition as an Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star.
